Academy to host trials for outfielders looking to become goalkeepers

Wolves Academy will host an open trial event at Compton Park and outfielders with a keen interest on becoming a goalkeeper are invited.

On Tuesday 22nd April from 4pm, the club’s training ground will hold the open trials, aimed at players in age groups under-9 to under-12 who live within 90 minutes of Compton.

Wolves Academy goalkeeping coaches will be in attendance to support and offer advice to the budding goalkeepers and the event will provide a unique opportunity for youngsters to train within category one facilities.

The session will be packed with fun-filled goalkeeping and football activities, combining goalie wars with a mini goal 3 vs 3 challenge. Players will also have the opportunity to show what attributes they have in possession and shot-stopping.

The evening is targeted at any budding outfield players who wish to try their hands at being a goalkeeper. If you’re an outfielder who would like to sign up to attend, please don’t forget your gloves.

Please note that those wishing to sign up for the event must live within 90 minutes of Compton  Park, Wolverhampton, WV3 9BF, while goalkeepers registered to professional clubs or signed on a PLYH Form 2 are unable to attend.

The closing date for sign up is Tuesday 15th April and academy staff will be in contact via email with confirmation and additional details.
