The Official Wolves Podcast has relaunched with new hosts Dave Edwards and James Bird, and episode one is out now.
Casting an eye over Wolves’ recent performances, formations and patterns of play will be 300 Club member Edwards, who experienced the Premier League and a major international tournament with Wales.
He’ll be joined on the show by lifelong Wolves supporter Bird, who is also editor-in-chief at Mundial and host of the magazine’s award-winning podcast.
Edwards will lean on his experiences as a player and his current punditry role, providing a more detailed look at Wolves’ tactics, and different strategies and trends across the game.
Looking beyond the emotion of a result, the podcast will provide more reflective and informed analysis of Wolves’ performances, while Edwards’ access behind-the-scenes at Compton Park will provide additional opportunities as the podcast series progresses.
The fortnightly episodes will be released every other Thursday, with episode one (OUT NOW) delving deep into Saturday’s draw at Brighton & Hove Albion, particularly the tactical tweak Gary O’Neil made at half-time which turned the game around.
On the new podcast, Edwards said: “We’re trying to do all the insight. There's so much noise in football generally, and there are so many opinions, so we're going to try and take the emotion out of it as much as possible and dive deep into why things are happening on the pitch.
“Everyone will still have their opinions, but hopefully it'll be a more informed one after they’ve listened to our podcast.”
Bird said: “I'm very excited to be hosting this with Wolves legend Dave Edwards. This is going to be a show for Wolves fans who are interested in the how, the what, and the why things happen on the pitch.
“We're going to cut through the clickbait, we're going to cut through the media chatter, and we're going to deliver an alternative verdict on Wolves’ performances from the weekend, and also look towards upcoming games with some reflective and informed analysis.
“With me, you're going to get the lifelong fan view, looking at it from the stands. And from Dave, you're going to get something a little bit more insightful from someone who has done it all and seen it all on the pitch.”
The Official Wolves Podcast will be available on all of the usual podcast providers and supporters are invited to send in questions for Edwards and Bird to tackle on future episodes via podcast@wolves.co.uk.
