Wolves Express | The Championship gets underway at Molineux

Ahead of Wolves' Championship opener at Molineux on Friday evening, hear from Cesar Peixoto and Kieran Trippier on the latest episode of Wolves Express.

Friday's episode of the club's official quickfire podcast begins with the thoughts of head coach Peixoto who insists Wolves are ready for the new league campaign having put the work in during the pre-season.

Although he is getting his first taste of English league football against Blackburn Rovers this evening, Peixoto feels his style of play will suite the team and explains why managing in England was always something he wanted to do and is proud to have had the opportunity to work for a historic club like Wolves.

The podcast also hears from summer addition in the experienced Trippier, who has already made an impact on the squad during his first few months at the club. The right-back talks about how he has settled into Wolves, why he is going to embrace playing in the Championship with the Old Gold and what he can bring to the team.

Trippier, who has previous experience of earning promotion to the Premier League from the second tier, also discusses the difficulty the Championship will pose this season, addresses the 'nonsense' reports of him considering ripping up his contract earlier in the summer and how he got an insight into the environment behind the scenes at Molineux before joining.

There is also a preview of the latest two-part special of Wolves Unpacked, which sees co-host James Bird catch up with several Old Gold players and staff, including director of performance Phil Hayward and head of performance analysis Tom Green who explain how Wolves are prepared for the new campaign.

Released three tines a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - during the 2026/27 season, Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
