One Pack Week | Historic milestone for supporter groups

Ahead of One Pack Week 2025, Wolves teamed up with Fans for Diversity for a special event under the Molineux lights on Thursday 6th March, designed to showcase the power of supporter groups.

‘Wolves Together’ marked a historic moment for Wolves supporter groups, who united together for the first time to showcase their contributions, whilst forging new connections and sparking new ways to support one another.

One of the central themes of the event was to spotlight the importance of fandom in the game and ensuring the future of the club’s supporter groups remains both inclusive and strong. In attendance were representatives from Her Game Too, Molineux Connects, Punjabi Wolves, Golden Black, Wolves Trust 1877, Pride in the Pack, Wolves Disability Supporters Association and Old Gold Pack.

The event was opened by Fans for Diversity, an initiative run in partnership with Kick It Out and the Football Supporters’ Association, with the aim of supporting and funding fan-led activity that celebrates diversity in football.

Nilesh Chauhan, Fans for Diversity manager, spoke about ways in which the supporter groups can engage with resources, campaigns and events. Wolves’ equality, diversity & inclusion manager Gurpri Bains also provided a snapshot overview of the club’s EDI Strategy: Mission One Pack and initiatives which supporter groups can get involved with.

Bains said: “The Wolves Together event was not just a one-off gathering, it acted as a powerful reminder of the collective strength that lies in the diversity of Wolverhampton’s fan base by bringing together supporters from different backgrounds and generations, creating a space for positive dialogue, collaboration and empowerment.

“Each supporter group took to the stage to introduce themselves, spotlighting their history, achievements and ambitions to ensure that football continues to be a more welcoming and inclusive space for all, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or race and disability or ability, further strengthening the club’s One Pack ethos.”

The supporter groups highlighted ongoing campaigns such as men’s mental health, prostate cancer, social wellbeing and raising the visibility around key topics such as violence against women and girls.

Another significant discussion centred around the practicalities of setting up, launching and managing supporter groups, alongside the work being done to support Wolves fans with visible and invisible disabilities at home and away fixtures, as well as supporting fans who are attending alone or for the very first time.

Patti Jaffe, founder of Molineux Connects, a Wolves supporter group set up with Fans for Diversity that aims to connect alone supporters, said: “It was a fabulous way to get to know the proactive work which some of our fan groups are doing and it was great to see how prepared everyone was to collaborate. This inclusive and expansive ethos will help to build a resilient support, open to all in the Wolves community. Molineux really does Connect.”

Dave Wood, Fan Services manager for Wolves, said: “Before the Wolves Together evening, members of the groups may have spotted each other at games home and away, unaware of who the other group’s members were and the work that they were doing. Following the event, we hope that a foundation has been laid for the supporter groups to become more connected and collaborative.”

The event also provided a platform for looking ahead and honouring the club’s rich supporter group history, which is home to the first ever organised ethnic supporters’ group in the world, Punjabi Wolves.

They have followed the Old Gold since 1954, alongside the newly founded supporter group, Golden Black, who bring together diverse Black supporters who have been following the club since the 1950s to present. Both groups discussed ways in which they could also help the club’s newly formed LGBTQIA+ supporter group ‘Pride in the Pack’ with their launch event later this year.

Collectively, the supporter groups formed a unanimous agreement to create a new flag which would unite their individual logos, symbolising their collective strength and diversity. The flag will be launched later this season to showcase their shared passion for fostering a welcoming and vibrant matchday environment at Molineux.
