After their midweek loss at Molineux, Wolves are back on home on Monday night looking for a first win of the season against Manchester United, and wolves.co.uk has previewed the 8pm kick-off.

Edwards will have to make do without midfielder Joao Gomes on Monday evening after the Brazilian international picked up his fifth booking of the Premier League season at home to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. Gomes will serve a one-game suspension before returning to the squad against Arsenal next weekend. There will be question marks over who will take Gomes’ place in the team with Ladislav Krejci’s fitness still up in the air after he missed the last two matches, while Marshall Munetsi hobbled off with a calf injury against Forest. Matt Doherty returned to the squad in midweek but did not make it off the bench but could come into the side for the visit of Man United, while it is still to be seen if Hugo Bueno can recover from a knock which kept him out of the last match.
Ruben Amorim has a few more injuries to deal with on Monday evening as his side head to Molineux with Thursday night’s goalscorer Diogo Dalot facing a race against time to be back fit to face Wolves after being taken off on the 68th minute with an apparent injury worry. After playing 90 minutes and scoring against Crystal Palace last weekend, Mason Mount was kept on the bench in midweek, while another starter against the Eagles, Matthijs de Ligt, was completely absent from the squad, but the pair are both expected to be fine for Monday night. Two players are aren’t expected to feature at Molineux are Harry Maguire and Benjamin Sesko who are currently absent with hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

3 | Journey to Monday
Wolves’ search for a first Premier League win of the season has entered its fifth month after Wednesday’s narrow defeat to Nottingham Forest. Since the arrival of Edwards during the November international break, Wolves have become tighter at the back, conceding just four goals in their last three games, but they are still greatly lacking in attack. Despite opportunities in all three matches under Edwards, Wolves are yet to find the net so will be hoping that will change on Monday evening.
Amorim cut a frustrated figure at Old Trafford on Thursday evening, as his side let two points slip against West Ham United. Monday night’s visitors were set to move level with Chelsea in the Champions League places before West Ham’s 83rd-minute equaliser. Diogo Dalot had put the hosts ahead at Old Trafford, but United, often the scorers from set pieces, conceded from a corner themselves, with Soungoutou Magassa earning the Hammers a point. The draw meant United’s season remained inconsistent, with the previous weekend’s win at Crystal Palace not built on. Amorim’s side are faring better away from home currently, arriving at Molineux unbeaten in four on their travels, winning two and drawing the other two.
4 | Boxing Day joy last season
Wolves enjoyed a Boxing Day outing to remember against Manchester United last December, as the Old Gold put two past their visitors without reply on Vitor Pereira’s first match in charge at Molineux.
Just four days after a dominant victory away at Leicester City, Wolves returned home to make it back-to-back wins and lift themselves out of the drop zone thanks to second half goals from Matheus Cunha and Hee Chan Hwang.
The momentum of a tight game tilted Wolves’ way when Bruno Fernandes was sent off early in the second half and Cunha – who now plays for United – scored direct from a corner soon after. The Brazilian then helped Wolves seal the win in added time, setting up Hwang to seal a big Boxing Day win.
