Wolves Foundation ambassador and lifelong Wolves fan Mark Rhodes has released his first single in 22 years – a charity World Cup anthem for the West Midlands.
'Sing It Everybody', a feel-good anthem written by Rhodes and featuring the BIMM Institute Birmingham Gospel Choir, is now available across all major platforms with proceeds from downloads going to the six football club charities from across the region.
Rhodes, the double BAFTA award-winning presenter, singer who proudly hails from the Black Country, has released the track which will support Wolves Foundation, Albion Foundation, Birmingham City FC Foundation, Aston Villa Foundation, Walsall FC Foundation and Sky Blues in the Community. All proceeds from downloads and streams will be shared between the six foundations.
The accompanying music video — filmed at the iconic Molineux Stadium, home of Wolverhampton Wanderers — features a host of familiar faces, including Wolves legend Steve Bull, Baggies legend Ally Robertson who later moved to Molineux, and one of Bull’s regular adversaries in former Albion defender Paul Mardon.
Also taking part were mascots from the Midlands clubs, and the result is a celebration of West Midlands football and community spirit timed to coincide with the build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Rhodes, who grew up in the West Midlands and has been a Wolves Foundation ambassador for several years, is also the presenter of a Saturday morning football show on BBC Radio WM. He rose to national fame in 2003 as runner-up on ITV's Pop Idol, before teaming up with fellow contestant Sam Nixon as the duo 'Sam & Mark'. The pair reached Number 1 in February 2004 with their cover of 'With a Little Help from My Friends' — making 'Sing It Everybody' Rhodes' first solo single and first release of any kind in over two decades.
As one half of Sam & Mark, Rhodes went on to become one of the best-loved presenters in British children's television, winning Best Presenter at the BAFTA Children's Awards in both 2013 and 2015 for Sam & Mark's Big Friday Wind Up on CBBC.
He says: "I've always wanted to release a World Cup song, and the time just felt right. I don't take myself too seriously — it's been great fun from start to finish — and I thought, why not just go for it? My life changed forever the day I decided to call the Pop Idol hotline all those years ago, so I'm a big believer in taking a chance on things.
"Having the incredible BIMM Institute Birmingham Gospel Choir on the track gives it something really special — and having Steve Bull in the video didn't hurt either!

“I've long been an ambassador of the Wolves Foundation, and all six West Midlands club charities do incredible work in their communities, so I'm really happy to be able to go some way to giving back to a region that has given me so much.
“The continued support of people across the West Midlands is the reason I'm still able to do what I love — they believed in me all those years ago and have never stopped cheering me on. Now all that's left is for England to lift the trophy!"
Steve Bull, Wolves vice-president and honorary patron of Wolves Foundation, added: "Mark asked me to be involved, and I didn't need much convincing — anything that raises money for the foundations across the West Midlands is worth getting behind.
“The video was filmed right here at Molineux, which made it extra special. Mark's got a great song on his hands."
Laura Cahill, business development manager at Wolves Foundation, said: “When Mark came to us with his World Cup song, with the really generous idea of supporting the different club Foundations across the West Midlands, we were only too happy to help.
“We have been working together on a ‘Tour De Midlands’ cycle ride taking place just before the World Cup, and so getting together to support Mark with the video was a brilliant opportunity.
“It was a really fun day of filming, and the final edit, with Mark and all the different Foundations coming together in support of England, is fantastic.
“Not only is it a great song and video backing the Three Lions ahead of the tournament, but anyone who downloads a copy will know they are supporting the valuable work delivered by clubs in their communities across the West Midlands.”
The special video created to accompany the single was produced and edited by Jack Berry, Kieran Flannery, Matthew McClennon and Harry McCart.
In addition to the BIMM Institute Birmingham Gospel Choir, the music was provided by band members Ricky Ahir (guitar), Pete Donnelly (bass) and Niall Fennell (drums).
'Sing It Everybody' is available on all major platforms right now, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
