Wolves winger Chiquinho will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Spanish side RCD Mallorca.
The 24-year-old recently concluded 12 months away from Molineux, having enjoyed a successful spell with Famalicao in the Primeira Liga following a short stint at Stoke City.
During the course of the campaign, he turned out 27 times for the Portuguese club, scoring on five occasions, helping them finish eight in the league standings.
Having returned to Molineux this summer, Chiquinho was involved in Wolves’ pre-season tour of the USA and featured off the bench for Gary O’Neil’s side in the opening Premier League match of the campaign away to Arsenal.
The winger started his first game in gold and black since May 2022 in Wednesday evening’s Carabao Cup victory over Burnley at Molineux.
Now he heads for his first taste of Spanish football with Mallorca, who travel to Leganes on Saturday evening.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “We think this is going to be a really good loan for Chiquinho, who still needs frequent minutes after coming back last season from a serious injury.
“We’ve all been impressed with the way he has worked and performed since he returned from his loan in Portugal, but we feel the opportunity for him to now go and test himself in La Liga is a good next step for him.
“He’s almost 25, so at this age it’s important he gets another season of regular football under his belt, especially in a really competitive league, and we look forward to seeing how he gets on.”
