Doyle heads to Birmingham on loan

Tommy Doyle has joined Championship outfit Birmingham City on a season-long loan.

The former England youth international has made almost 60 appearances in gold and black following his move to Molineux two seasons ago.

Having progressed through the Manchester City academy, which also saw the 23-year-old spend time on loan with Hamburger SV, Cardiff City and Sheffield United, Doyle experienced a season-long loan stint with Wolves during the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

The midfielder enjoyed a fruitful 12 months at Molineux that season, turning out 30 times in gold and black as he got his first taste of regular top flight football.

A positive influence on and off the pitch, Doyle’s stunning Emirates FA Cup strike at Brentford 18 months ago earned him a place among the club’s Goal of the Season finalists.

After signing permanently for Wolves in summer 2024, Doyle was a matchday regular last season and even wore the captain’s armband during the Carabao Cup visit to Brighton & Hove Albion, in which he scored another impressive goal.

As he searches for regular game time in the Championship, Doyle will now spend the 2025/26 season across the West Midlands with the Blues.

Everyone at Wolves would like to wish Tommy the best of luck during the next 12 months at St Andrews.
