Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has been voted as Wolves’ SUDU Player of the Month for the first time following an impressive transition from the Frenchman during February.
A regular off the bench so far this season, Bellegarde has been the ultimate utility player as he covered in a variety of positions across the forward line since his arrival at the club in summer 2023.
But a move to centre-midfield at the beginning of February coincided with an upturn in form for Bellegarde, who marked his first start in the centre of the park under Vitor Pereira by opening the scoring in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Molineux.
The Frenchman has since been a pivotal part of the Old Gold side during the last month, shining in the wins over Blackburn Rovers and AFC Bournemouth, while also providing a neat backheeled assist for Matheus Cunha's strike in the narrow defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
February’s award is Bellegarde’s first Player of the Month success and is the latest new name to be voted by supporters this season, following wins earlier in the campaign for Andre, Nelson Semedo and Emmanual Agbadou - who presented Bellegarde with this month's award - while Cunha has claimed the three other monthly gongs so far this term.
Bellegarde earned the February award in the tightest month of voting ever, claiming 23.9% of the public vote, ahead of Cunha (22.6%), Andre (14.3%) and Agbadou (10.9%).
