Toti | 'Six in a row, that's the motivation'

Toti says six Premier League wins in a row is a huge motivation for Wolves, as they prepare to host Leicester City at Molineux on Saturday.

The Old Gold may have secured their top flight status with victory at Manchester United last weekend, but Vitor Pereira’s group are hungry to keep rising the Premier League table and finish the campaign strongly.

Toti played in the reverse fixture with Leicester back in December – Pereira’s first game in the Wolves hotseat – and he has praised the mentality and confidence of the group, which he hopes will lead to the winning run continuing this weekend.

On continuing the momentum

“We’re in a much better position right now, we know that, but we still have five more games to go. We want to keep pushing. We have five wins in a row, six unbeaten, and we want more, this is the ambition. That is what the gaffer’s being saying, last game we won, but he told us we had so many things that we could have done better.

“When you win, you still have things to improve, and now we're playing Leicester at home, we already beat them before, and we need to respect them as a team, but know that we can still beat them again. We're going for the six in a row, that is what we're looking for, that's the motivation.”

On the journey under Pereira

“Since he came, he changed our mentality, the way we play. We needed to believe in us, because we were in a very hard position. Doing what he did since he arrived, we need to praise him a lot and be thankful. It’s hard work from everybody, pushing and helping each other, and that's why we are in a much better position now.

“We want even more. That's what the gaffer’s been telling us, we must not stop. We want to be in a much better position, the points are very tight, and we can still go up a few more positions in the table, and for us it would be much better.”

On enjoying being a part of it

“I've been enjoying it a lot. The environment’s been so good. Even with the fans, the connection, you can see it at the end of the game, the way we celebrate, even when we tackle, the way they celebrate is very important for us. You can see they are with us. They've been pushing us, and we want to do this for them.

“When you're confident, things come naturally. You can see people don't have that pressure anymore. You can see players doing different things, and that's all about the confident. The good things are just coming naturally, and that's good for us.”

On his tackle on Hojlund

“It was a big moment. This has been happening. We know the defence, we've been solid in the defensive line. We've been helping each other. When someone makes a mistake, it's good that we know we’re going to have someone behind covering your back, if it's myself, I know Agba is going to be there, Rayan, Nelson, Doc, Santi, Nasser or whoever is playing, we've been having a very good connection, and that's the good thing about it.”
