Andre | 'He got the team gathered together'

Andre says Vitor Pereira bringing everybody together has been the reason behind Wolves’ turnaround around in fortunes in recent months.

The Brazilian has been a consistent presence in the midfield, putting in some seller performances during the Old Gold’s six-match winning run, which propelled them out of relegation trouble and into midtable.

On Saturday Wolves are looking to bounce back from a first defeat in eight last time out when Brighton & Hove Albion visit Molineux, and Andre knows the players, staff and supporters will all be pulling in the same direction to try and make that possible.

On turning the season around

“First of all, Pereira changed a few things, and we were able to score more, and we had a few victories, and we are more confident now. We are playing well, and the players are doing fine. We have everything for the next phase, and we'll fight more as well.

“He is a good man, and he cares about everyone. He got the team gathered together, and together it's easier. We know that the fans will support us more as well. So, he's very important.”

On missing Strand Larsen last week

“They have a good team that plays well together. We did our best and in the first 25 minutes we had two chances, and maybe we could have had a better result.

“Stand Larsen is in a very good a phase, and he helps a lot, so he was missed. He is a strong player, strong forward, and when he comes back, I'm sure he will be able to help and keep scoring.

“Since I arrived here, we have been together. He has been helping me a lot, even with translations into English, and he still does it, and I like him very much.”

On Brighton up next

“They are a young team. They have quality players, and it will be hard, but if we play our game, and if we explore the spaces they leave, and if we pay attention, we have a good chance to do a good job.”

On his first season in the Premier League

“At the beginning, it was hard, but I managed to adapt. It was another country, another language, but when I got here the staff spoke English, so communication was difficult, but I managed to adapt, and I'm more confident now, and I'm 100% adapted now.

“Also, there are some Portuguese players, Brazilian players. Some people speak Spanish, and I understand more English now. So, it was difficult at the beginning, and also because the type of game is different from the Brazilian teams.

“The league has a good structure, and it is attractive. It's difficult, and it's a challenge, but it has a challenge that we have to go through. It's a big challenge, and the players here very competitive.”

On the summer ahead

“I love the beach. In Brazil I lived five minutes from the beach, and now we have sunshine here, and I like it, it's getting similar to Brazil. I need some rest, I'm looking forward to it, I left Brazil in the middle of a season, and I've been here for a year here without any holidays. So, I'm looking forward to the summer and playing some foot volley.”
