Santiago Bueno has been pleased to welcome a fellow Spanish-speaker into the group in Fer Lopez and says the group has welcomed the new recruit well.
The young Spaniard knew Jorgen Strand Larsen from their time together at Celta Vigo, but with the Norwegian late back for pre-season due to international duty, Lopez reported to a complete set of fresh faces.
Bueno, hailing from Uruguay, was one of those who stepped up to welcome the new attacker, first at Compton Park, then on pre-season in Portugal, and the new arrival has been a nice aspect for Bueno, who is fully refreshed following a summer to remember off the pitch.
On welcoming Lopez to the club
“Having another Spanish guy is very nice. He’s friends with Jorgen [Strand Larsen]; they played together at Celta. The group received him very well and we helped the adaptation to the Premier League and the team.
“The club, the team, the group, the coaches, every person helps the new players and it's very important for us. The group is very nice, and every player has a good relationship, and it's very important.”

On getting married over the summer
“It was very nice, a big experience, and amazing. It was very special. It's a big day, very emotional, and, for us, very important. It was very fast, very quick [after international duty]. But I enjoyed the time with the national team and the wedding with my wife, of course, and my family and my friends – the people.
“It was very, very nice [to have Wolves teammates there]. For us, it is very, very important. At the end of the day, we have many days, training sessions, lots of hours together. We’re very good friends.
“One friend gave me the [retro Wolves] shirt and it’s traditional in Uruguay, the last hour you put the mask on, the t-shirts, and it’s very nice. It’s blue like Uruguay, it’s similar and very nice.”
On heading off on safari
“It was very nice. A big experience. We liked it a lot and maybe in the future we’ll go back again. We were in the Jeep, and it was very nice. Tiring because it’s hours in the car, looking at the animals, but it was very nice. It is really different, and I recommend it.”
On being back refreshed and ready to go
“It's very important. The recovery, we enjoy the holidays with the family, friends and recover the energy and start 100 per cent. Now, it’s very nice [in Portugal], I enjoy the group, the friends and the people, it's very nice.”
