End of season awards presented at Compton

Santiago Bueno, Joao Gomes and Hugo Bueno were all winners of the men's first-team end of season awards following the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Following Friday’s training session at Compton Park, and ahead of the final game of the season, head coach Rob Edwards handed out awards for Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Goal of the Season for the men’s first-team.

In a vote exclusive to the Wolves App, Santiago Bueno was voted Player of the Season by supporters, with 34% of the votes going to the Uruguayan, seeing him finish ahead of Joao Gomes and Hugo Bueno, who completed the top three.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed his best season yet at Molineux, playing 33 times in the heart of the defence and registering four goals, including his first for the club at Tottenham Hotspur and an Emirates FA Cup winner at Grimsby Town.

The Players’ Player of the Season went to Joao Gomes. The Brazilian, who was last season’s Player of the Season, this time took the accolade from his peers for his performances in the Old Gold’s midfield this term.

Gomes also picked up Wolves' Men's Community Player of the Season award and the club's PFA Community Champion for his work alongside Wolves Foundation during the last 12 months.

The other supporter vote saw Hugo Bueno earn the Goal of the Season award. The defender’s stunning strike against Arsenal – hit from the edge of the box into the top corner – started a comeback against the league leaders at Molineux.

Hugo's strike came out on top ahead of Rodrigo Gomes’ effort which set Wolves on their way to a memorable win over Liverpool at Molineux in March.

The Spanish full-back was also named Wolves' SUDU Player of the Month for April - which he picked up alongside his Goal of the Season gong - following his impressive performances down the left side in gold and black last month.

Following the final day of their regular season at SEAH Stadium late last month, Wolves Women's awards were handed out. Georgia Marshall was voted Player of the Season by supporters, while Amber Hughes was crowned Players’ Player of the Season.

The Goal of the Season was won by Abbi Jenner for her strike against Sporting Khalsa, while Hughes finished Top Goalscorer and picked up the league's Golden Boot after hitting 21 goals across the 2025/26 campaign.

Louanne Worsey claimed the final award of the afternoon when she was named as Wolves' PFA Women's Community Champion.
