Home tie in the Carabao Cup first round

Wolves will face League Two Port Vale in the first round of the Carabao Cup in August.

The cup tie will take place over the weekend of 8th/9th August, meaning it will be Cesar Peixoto’s first competitive match in charge of Wolves.

The Molineux tie will be the first time the two clubs have met in the League Cup since 1984, when Wolves won 2-1 on aggregate over two ties.

Wolves’ return to the Championship means it’s the first time they’ve competed in round one of the competition since 2017.

Last year the Old Gold reached the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, beating West Ham United and Everton, before bowing out to Chelsea.

Date and ticket information for the first round tie will be confirmed in due course.
