Cesar Peixoto was left frustrated at Wolves not being able to claim victory from their visit to Wrexham after feeling his side dominated much of the game at the Racecourse Ground.
After opening the scoring through Adam Armstrong midway through the first half, Wolves conceded immediately and despite posing several chances at Anthony Patterson’s goal, the visitors were kept out.
However, the point left the Old Gold six game unbeaten heading into the international period, and Peixoto hopes his players will be able to continue this momentum having lost their opening two fixtures following the extended September/October break.
On a point at Wrexham
“I’m not satisfied because I think we deserved the three points. We were the better team over the 90 minutes, and we dominated the game.
“We had more possession, more shots on target, more shots off target, more corners, more of everything.
“They had two shots on target and scored a goal, so I believe we deserved the three points, but the lads did an amazing job.”

On a difficult place to come
“I think we played a great game because we dominated in a difficult place to play – Middlesbrough lost here in their last game – but I think today we did enough to win.
“One point is not what we wanted, but it’s an important point away from home. We’re unbeaten in six games, and that’s important for us too.
“Now we have two games at home, and we have to try to win both of them, get another six points and continue our momentum.”
On Armstrong’s third goal in four matches
“It was a great ball and a great goal and it’s what I want all the time in football. Sometimes you play to feet, sometimes you play into space, in behind the defensive line.
“But Adam made the movement with the right timing, Nasser played a great ball, and it was a difficult finish from Adam, so they did a great job.
“It was an important goal, but then, one or two minutes later, we conceded.”

On conceding straight after scoring
“We knew this team were very tall and very aggressive inside the box. They cross a lot and play very direct football and because of that, today we put Toti in the team to help us defend inside the box.
“We knew these kinds of moments were going to happen, although I think we could have done better in that situation, but the opposition did a good job too. After that, we got back into the game, dominated and created chances to score.
“We pushed them but they had a lot of bodies inside the box and around the edge of the box, so it was difficult to find spaces, but we still created chances, and we could have won.”
On aiming for a strong start after the break
“I hope so. I’ve spoken with the players who are going to their national teams and we want them to play for their countries, but they mustn’t forget they’re Wolves players as well. They have to stay focused with their national teams but also remember our goals here.
“But this time is different because the break is shorter. Last time, we had three weeks, which was a lot of time, then the players came back, and two days later we started playing six games in two weeks, so it was a lot of games.
“I hope the players come back in a better way, not as tired as they were last time, and stay focused on our work. We have two games at home, and we have to try to get six points.”
