Charlotte Greengrass praised her side’s ‘professional’ performance against Shrewsbury Town Women as they progressed through to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round.
14 goals saw Wolves overcome their local rivals to progress through as Greengrass scored five to add to her season tally. Greengrass spoke on the team’s FA Cup ambitions as well as next week’s Black Country derby clash.
On the performance
“I think professional sums it up. We knew it would be a tough test and they would come out to try and prove a point, some of the girls used to play here so that was going to be a tough test, but I think we controlled the game throughout.
“There were lots of goalscorers across the team and it was good to get the young girls on, all round a good day.”
On her five goals
“It felt really good, I thought I had a ropey start but to hit the back of the net that many times is brilliant.
“I’m just really enjoying playing with the girls and that’s reflecting in my performances, so really pleased.”
On the fourth round
“I think we want to go as far as we can, the team did really well last year, and they got really far with some good results.
“We want to get as far as we can, keep looking ahead to the next round and see who we get.”
On next week’s Black Country derby
“We prepare for it like any other game, we know there is that element that it is a derby and we’ve obviously already performed well in it this season at the Hawthorns.
“I think taking a little bit of that and the confidence we can take from a performance like this today and getting some more goals.
“Being prepared for the battle, I think those duels are going to be really important, it’s going to be a difficult test especially at their ground.
“We’ll get back on the training pitch and get going.”
On the final game of 2024
“I think it will be good, like I said it’s a Black Country derby and we want to get as far as we can in the County Cup and get that trophy back for the team.
“I think it will be a feisty one but one we really enjoy before Christmas.”
