Racheal Quigley was delighted to have helped Wolves secure all three points in their clash against Manchester United PGA in the FAWNL Cup group stage.
The Australian forward headed home the second of Wolves' three goals on Sunday, as Charlotte Greengrass and Amelia Hiscox also contributed to the 3-1 victory against Man United's under-21 side.
Three more points for the Old Gold ensure they remain at the top of their League Cup group, and the forward reflected on the team’s resilience on Sunday afternoon, while also turning her focus to the upcoming fixture at SEAH Stadium against Middlesbrough this weekend.
On their confident performance
“Look, it took us a little while to get into the game. We just needed to put in a little bit more effort during the first half and take our chances.
“I think during the second half we really came out and we turned it around, so it was great.
“I think the character in this team is really special and that is going to help us a lot this season.”
On getting back onto the scoresheet
“It’s taken me a little bit but it’s always great to score for Wolves, I love it, and I love playing for this team.
“There were a couple different goal scorers today as well so it’s always a positive!"

On their strong cup start
“We are buzzing, if you look at our team, it’s such a strong one, so I think without us having those expectations from last season, we are really hoping to do well this year.”
On a home clash with Middlesbrough
“To be honest, Macca has such a hard job because any of our players in the squad could be in the starting line-up, so I think we all just need to be grinding and just work our butts off to be prepared as best as we can be.”
