Louanne Worsey was pleased with her Wolves Women teammates after the Old Gold defeated Hull City Ladies 5-0 in the FAWNL.
Worsey found the back of the net and played a pivotal part in the victory at the SEAH Stadium, the first league match in Telford in 2026.
The Wolves winger gave her thoughts on the performance, her goal and the team all contributing to goals, as well as looking ahead to the upcoming away trip to Middlesbrough.
On the performance
“It was a really good team performance, and obviously with the last few games being called off, I think we wanted to come back with a bang, and that’s what we have done today.”
On her goal
“I’ve been wanting to get back on the scoreboard for a while now. It’s just instinctive to cut in and shoot, so I’m just glad it went in.”
On the defensive solidity of the team
“It’s massive. It starts from the back all the time.
“As long as they’re doing their job back there and the strikers are getting on the scoresheet, then we’ll keep winning games.”
On the team not relying on one goalscorer
“It’s fantastic. I think it just shows the depth that we’ve got in our team and the talent that we’ve got.
“There’s not one girl on this team that I wouldn’t back in front of goal or anywhere on the pitch.”
On Sunday’s trip to Middlesbrough
“It’s going to be a massive game. They always fight wherever they go, home or away. But going away to them, we’ll have to perform like we did today and stick together as a team.
