Six more player commit to Wolves Women

Six more players who were offered contracts ahead of Wolves Women's first ever WSL 2 season have committed their futures to the club.

Georgia Marshall, Anna Morphet, Becky Anderson, Amy Sims, Tammi George and Charlotte Greengrass have, as of 1 July, all turned fully professional as part of the criteria for Wolves' place in Women's Super League 2 for the 2026/27 season, joining already-confirmed retainees Abbi Jenner, Amber Hughes and Beth Roberts, as well as new signings Jasmine Matthews and Melissa Lawley.

Marshall, who was named the Supporters' Player of the Season for 2025/26 after a superb campaign in the heart of defence, joined the club last summer and made a huge impact in her first season. As well as claiming the supporters' award, Marshall scored a career-best six goals from centre-half while making 34 appearances during the promotion-winning campaign.

Team captain Morphet is now the longest-serving player in the Wolves squad, having registered 194 appearances since arriving from Aston Villa in 2018. She was a near ever-present after returning from injury just before Christmas and can proudly call herself an FA Women's National League promotion-winning captain. Morphet also scored three times during 2025/26, with two of those goals coming directly from corners against Liverpool Feds and West Bromwich Albion.

Since arriving from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2024, Anderson has made 63 appearances in the heart of midfield for Dan McNamara's side, scoring twice. Having previously played in the WSL with London Bees, Anderson's experience at the elite level will be a valuable asset for Wolves in their debut WSL 2 campaign.

Sims returned from injury to feature - and score - in Wolves' final FA Women's National League fixture of the season against Halifax in April before playing her part in the play-off final as the team secured promotion to WSL 2 in May. A tenacious midfielder, Sims has scored an impressive eight goals in just 22 appearances in Old Gold since arriving from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2025.

A name synonymous with women's football in the Black Country, George returns to professional football and WSL 2 after previously leaving Wolves to join Sheffield United. With 180 first-team appearances and 53 goals since progressing through the academy from the age of 13, George has become one of the most influential figures in the club's women's programme. She can already boast numerous Player of the Season awards, and now adds promotion to WSL 2 to her list of achievements.

A place in WSL 2 would not have been possible had Greengrass not scored the 64th-minute winner against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Women's National League play-off in May, and the prolific forward has also committed her future to the club for the new professional era. With 58 goals in just 68 appearances, Greengrass' incredible scoring record, alongside strike partner Amber Hughes, has played a huge part in Wolves' recent success - and the pair will now link up again in WSL 2.
