Georgia Marshall praised the mentality of the Old Gold after Wolves battled to a 2-2 draw with Watford in the WSL 2
Wolves drew in an intense end-to-end encounter at the SEAH Stadium, with Marshall opening the scoring before a chaotic second half concluded with points shared.
Marshall highlighted the physical battle, lauding the teams’ mentality so far in this division
On the game
“It was a physical battle today, a real end-to-end game. We didn’t play our best, but we had aggression and fought for each other.
“I think 2-2 was a fair result, they were the better team for periods, but we’re always disappointed to not get the three points.
“Em’s (Emily Orman’s) late save showed her class. We all know her quality but that save at the end was vital and prevented a late killer blow.
“Ultimately, it’s another point on the board, but it’s one that could have gone either way.”
On the mentality
“We’re always aggressive. We’re always going to fight for one another and we’re always together as a unit.
“That’s one thing we must carry on doing in every single game, if we stick together and play the best we can then we know we can beat anyone.
On her goal
“It was good to pick up a goal. I’ve been trying to get in the right areas, so it felt nice to get one on the board.
“But I also felt I could have scored another today, so I’m a bit disappointed about that. I scored a few last season so hopefully I can kick on and get some more.”
On the WSL 2 journey so far
“I was a bit nervous going into the first game because you’re always questioning whether you belong at this level. But now we’re a few games in, I feel like we’re growing in confidence and we know we can compete.
“Picking up as many points as we have so far has shown us that we’re well capable of competing at this level.”
