Luke Cundle enjoyed a successful transition from Wolves Academy to the first-team during the 2021/22 campaign before enjoying time on loan away from Molineux in recent seasons.
The midfielder joined the club’s youth ranks in 2014 and rose through each age category as captain, which saw him eventually lead the under-21s under the guidance of James Collins.
Having been part of the first-team’s pre-season tour of China, where he played a part in the Premier League Asia Trophy final victory against Manchester City, Cundle’s senior debut followed in the Carabao Cup in September 2019 against Reading at Molineux.
Cundle had consistently trained with the first-team for a number of years before becoming a permanent member of the group, and although his Premier League debut was brief against Southampton in January, his start away at Tottenham Hotspur attracted praise as he helped the team to three valuable points.
Two further appearances followed that season, as did a new four-year contract, which will see the midfielder remain at Wolves until 2026.
He spent the next two seasons developing away from Molineux, firstly joining Swansea City on loan during the 2022/23 Championship season, playing 34 times for the Swans, before turning out for both Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City during the following campaign.
Cundle found the net seven times during his stints at Home Park and the Bet365 Stadium, having linked up with manager Steven Schumacher at both clubs.
