Tom King
Tom King has added depth to Wolves’ goalkeeping department during his time at Molineux after arriving during the summer of 2023.
A former England under-17 international, King has a wealth of experience having made more than 200 appearances across his previous spells in the Football League.
Having grown up in Gibraltar, he started his career with Millwall, before moving to Newport County in the summer of 2019, where he made almost 50 appearances during two seasons and went more than 500 minutes without conceding a goal.
He also entered the Guinness Book of Records in January 2021 for scoring the longest ever goal. From a distance of 96.01 metres, King launched the ball from his own penalty area towards the Cheltenham Town goal which looped over his opposite number – taking the record from Asmir Begovic, who netted a 91.9m effort for Stoke City against Southampton seven years previously.
During his time at Newport, he was called up to the Wales national team for the first time, but he departed in July 2021 to join Salford City before moving on to Northampton Town.
King stepped out between the sticks more than 70 times for the two clubs, ahead of joining Wolves before the start of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
The goalkeeper, who has also provided commentary for Wolves TV during his Old Gold career, signed a two-year contract extension at Molineux in February 2024.

Previously capped for England at under-16 and under-17 level, Tom King switched allegiances to Wales in 2019 while playing for Newport County, having qualified for the country as his mother was born in Cardiff.
Working alongside Wolves’ former goalkeeping coach Tony Roberts, King made the Wales squad for the first time in their Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Azerbaijan and Hungary.
He has since been regular third-choice keeper for his country, before coming off the bench to make his debut against Gibraltar in June 2024, where he kept a clean sheet in the second half of a goalless draw.
