Sasa Kalajdzic
Austrian international striker Sasa Kalajdzic joined Wolves in the summer of 2022 when he switched the Bundesliga for the Premier League.
The 6ft 7in striker developed in Germany, but started in his home nation, with Admira Wacker taking him from SR Donaufeld Wien as a youngster and presenting the chance to impress in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Promoted to the senior side in 2017, the striker hit 12 goals for Admira Wacker, leading to a 2019 Stuttgart transfer, which started with a cruciate ligament injury, but proved to be a successful move.
To date, the 2020/21 campaign have been Kalajdzic’s most productive, after he bagged 16 times to finish the division’s sixth top scorer. A shoulder injury disrupted the Austrian’s progression, but he still hit six goals, including two important equalisers at Union Berlin and Bayern Munich.
Kalajdzic’s Wolves career had an unfortunate beginning, as the striker sustained a serious knee injury on his debut in gold and black, having played just 45 minutes of his first game against Southampton at Molineux.
Following his recovery, the Austrian played a part in the first half of Wolves’ 2023/24 season, scoring three times in 13 appearances for the club after netting his first in an away win at Everton to secure the first three points of Gary O’Neil’s tenure as head coach.
After struggling for consistent game time in the Premier League, Kalajdzic returned to the Bundesliga with a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, but a month later he suffered an ACL tear which put him out of action for the remainder of the season.
Kalajdzic returned from injury in the summer of 2025, scoring Wolves' first goal in pre-season, before heading out on loan to join Austrian Bundesliga side LASK for the campaign.
Sasa Kalajdzic has racked up almost 20 international caps for Austria during his career, having first turned out for his country at under-21 level.
He made his senior international debut in October 2020 coming off the bench in a 1-0 Nations League victory over Romania, before netting his first two goals for Austria in a 2-2 away draw against Scotland.
Kalajdzic has also featured at a major international tournament, representing Austria at Euro 2020, where he scored in a 2-1 extra-time loss against eventual champions Italy in the last 16.
